What is the difference between all the different RAMP portals and apps?
There are several very distinct RAMP portals and apps.
RAMP Registration Portal - 3on3 Superleague online registration platform for players staff and executives to register and be assigned to team rosters.
RAMP GameSheets App - an app on mobile devices to access the electronic gamesheets - used by teams, timekeeper & referee to enter game details.
RAMP Team Portal - where team admins create team calendar, notices, and RSVPs for team members to access through the RAMP Team app.
RAMP Team App - App on mobile devices for team chats, covid screening etc. - used by the teams
Who can see all the stats and goals?
Parents and coaches can go on the 3on3 Superleague website to view the game information after the game. The teams will be able to see information regarding that game. Any officials notes or comments will not be seen by teams, only 3on3 Superleague will have access to that information.
Who do we contact if a game gets cancelled due to arena closures or power outages?
If you arrive at the arena and find that it has been closed or shut down due to a power outage, mechanical failure or other event, the coach must contact Admin@3on3superleague.ca
Whenever possible, a cancelled game will be rescheduled depending on ice availability.
When does the season start and when are the playoffs?
The schedule will be posted on the 3on3 Superleague and once you download the Team app, the schedule will populate for your team. The playoff weekends are on the 3on3 Superleague home page of the website under the “At a Glance” information.
When does the schedule come out?
The first schedule should be posted by mid-March. This will cover the month of April and possibly the first week of May after which time, a re-tier will be done to ensure the divisions are competitive.
Does my child need to know how to skate to play?
Yes, 3on3 Superleague does not offer instruction on how to skate or play hockey.
What are Free Agents and Free Agent Teams?
If a player does not have a team to play on, they can register as "free agents” and we will place them on a team. We do accept friend requests and we'll endeavor to place them on the same team. Players will initially be placed on teams but this may change once all registrations are processed. Prior to scheduling games, we review the free agent teams and try to ensure they are balanced in skill level. These teams may consist of players with varying skill levels.
Free agent teams are dependent upon volunteer parents to act as coaching staff. Coaches need to be at least 21 yrs. of age.
Can anyone register for an account or does the league have to assign accounts?
Anyone can download the app on their smartphone but will not be able to access information without the appropriate codes.
There are 2 ways to pay. You can pay by major credit card or you can e-transfer. At the checkout phase of registration, you can select your method of payment. If you are paying by credit card, merchant service fees will be applied. There are no fees for e-transfer unless your financial institution charges you for these. E-transfers can be sent to 3on3superleague@gmail.com (no password required). In the memo field of the e-transfer, note the name of the player you wish to have the funds applied towards.
Can more than one parent be on the email list?
Yes. We understand there are families where communication is sometimes challenging. If both parents’ emails are added at registration, both will receive critical emails.
Do you accept KidSport / Jumpstart?
3on3 Superleague is an eligible sports program for those wishing to apply to KidSport and/or Jumpstart. They support children who need financial assistance with sport registration fees and equipment costs. As per their recommendation, families will need to pay the registration fee in full upon registration. Once 3on3 Superleague receives the funding allocation, you will be reimbursed for that amount.
Can I request that my child play with his friend(s)?
Yes, during the free agent registration process you will be asked if they have any friends that they want to play with. These requests will be noted however, spots can only be held for a week after which time they will be opened up to other free agent registrants. In addition, they will not be rostered nor their spot guaranteed until payment is made.
What are the age categories for 3on3 Superleague?
U9 = 7 - 8 years old
U11 = 9 - 10 years old
U13 = 11 - 12 years old
U15 = 13 - 14 years old
U18 = 15 - 17 years old
Think of 3on3 Superleague as a continuation of the winter hockey season. If your child played in U13 during the winter season, they will be U13 for our Spring league.
Can we add a pick-up player to our team on the GameSheets App and how can we do that?
You cannot add players to your team from the GameSheet app. If you require a general spare or are affiliating a player from another team, you must request this from the RAMP Team Portal.
Instructions are provided under the Coaches And Manager menu option at the top of the 3on3 Superleague home page called “How to roster a general spare or affiliated player”.
All requests are approved by the league and must be submitted at least 2 hours PRIOR to the start of the game. Any team found using a player NOT on their roster will be subject to rule 2.8 under Game Rules.
How are suspended players recorded? Who does this?
The referee is responsible for entering suspension information via the RAMP GameSheets app. This is no different than if they were recording a suspension issued to a player on paper gamesheets. The same information now must be entered into the app. Once a suspension has been reviewed, coaches will be notified via email of the suspension. The suspension will be entered into the RAMP system and will be tracked there. The word “Suspended” will appear beside the player’s name for the number of games that they must serve. Once the number of games has been served, the player can resume with regular activities and the word “Suspended” will no longer appear beside their name.
When will I be contacted as to what team my free agent player is on?
Free agent players are temporarily placed on teams. These teams are fluid and will change as more registrations are received. Once the team is set, you will receive an email advising you of the team as well as the contact information for the coaching staff.
Why do free agent teams need volunteers?
Free agent teams have been put together by the league and are comprised of players who have not been invited to play on a registered team. As a result, there is no coaching staff. These teams need volunteers in the roles of coach, assistant coach, manager, timekeeper, scorekeeper and bench helpers. When you register your player, you will be asked if you can volunteer. Select an option and then complete a registration for yourself as Staff. There is no charge for this registration. If there are no volunteers, an email will be sent to all parents advising that staff is required and if no one volunteers, the team will be folded and your registration refunded.
What are the different codes used for on the RAMP GameSheet app?
When a game is created, game sheet codes are generated. These codes are mandatory to access the electronic game sheet. 4 unique codes are generated:
The home team must ensure that they provide the codes for the games to the individuals that require them. Usually, the official’s scheduler will require this information in advanced of the game so that all the officials can be prepared in advanced of the game.
What happens if a referee doesn't have a phone or doesn't bring it to the game?
During the technological times that we now live in, it is unlikely that referees will not have a smartphone of some kind. However, if this is an issue, as most games require at least 2 officials on the ice, at least one is very likely to have a smartphone on hand. The individual with the phone can enter the necessary information into the game sheet by entering the appropriate officials code for that specific game.
How will the electronic game sheet information be uploaded if there is no wifi or data connection?
Information that is entered into the game sheet app will be saved until a wifi or internet connection is made. If you are at a facility where getting a wifi connection is difficult, please ensure that you enter your specific code into the app beforehand so that the game sheet data can be loaded onto your device. This way you will be able to see the information and enter the required data. Again, once you have a wifi or internet connect, the information you entered will then upload.
How will officials see multiple penalties with the RAMP GameSheets app?
Each code is distinct for a specific role and game. Once an official enters the official code for a particular game, they will only see the information that is pertinent for that game. Regardless of the number of penalties issued during that game, the officials will be able to see them. They will all be listed.
Can a laptop be used to scorekeep / timekeep a game?
There is currently no web version of the RAMP GameSheets app available that can be used on a computer. There could be work arounds, but they can create significant problems and are not easy to navigate. It is advised that a smartphone be used so that the app can be downloaded to ensure that things are working as they should.
Do timekeepers need their own device (smartphone)?
Yes. Each individual that will be accessing the game sheet for their respective roles will need to have a smartphone on hand to access the RAMP GameSheets app.
Do officials need to create an account to access the RAMP GameSheets app?
Yes. Everyone must create an account before the can access the RAMP GameSheets app. This is the same as any other app that is downloaded for use.
If the timekeeper finds an error with player jersey #, can timekeeper change the jersey number once the game started?
Jersey #’s can be updated by the respective team or the timekeeper
Are players required to sign the gamesheet via the RAMP GameSheets app?
Player signatures are not required. Only the signatures of the HOME and the VISITOR coaches are required. The coaches will accept the responsibility that their team information is accurate for each game. There is no need to share a device, as each of these roles would have a separate code that needs to be entered and each should have their own devices to enter the information on.
What happens if there is a last-minute change and you have signed off the sheet earlier in the day?
This would depend on the type of information that needs to be changed. It is important that the information being entered is accurate the first time. If there are issues and changes need to be made regarding suspensions, 3on3 Superleague must be contacted at referee@3on3superleague.ca
Is there a different code for every game?
The codes will be different for each game. The same way you would have a different paper gamesheet for each game. There are different codes for each of the roles for each game so that the information pertaining to that specific game is available.
How do scorekeepers / timekeepers get their codes?
It is up to the coaches to decide how and when they wish to share the codes to the respective individuals. If the codes are not provided in advanced for the scorekeepers and timekeepers, they will get them when they arrive at the facility. We do recommend that they enter the code and download the game sheet in an area where wifi or internet is accessible. This way the information will be there throughout the game
Do the scorekeepers / timekeepers have to enter the official’s information prior to the game?
Yes. The officials must provide their full name (first and last) to the scorekeeper / timekeeper so that it can be entered in the app. This must be done so that the information will be recorded on the electronic gamesheet. An official signing in using their code for the game does not record their information on the gamesheet. This information will be used to contact the official in the event communication is needed.
Can stats be entered after game?
The different codes will remain active for 24-hours following the end of the game. Any information pertaining to that game must be entered by then. You will not be able to enter any information or stats after this 24-hour time frame.
Can other teams see all game stats on the 3on3 Superleague website?
Team stats will be available on the 3on3 Superleague website for public viewing.
Can the same code, for example timekeeper code, be in use by two separate people, or on two devices, at the same time?
No. The app was not designed to allow this to happen. Please also note that access to the various codes for all the roles are logged. Each time someone enters a code to view a game sheet the system tracks who logged in and when.
How would an official view multiple penalties to verify them?
When the official uses their officials code for that specific game, they can see all the penalties that were issued for that specific game. They will all be listed there for them to review. In the event the official cannot access the information under their official’s code, they could approach the timekeepers’ box to find out the information they need.
